Summary
We are seeking to recruit three Level 3 Apprentice Teaching Assistants who are highly motivated, dedicated and passionate about education, to join our successful and supportive team, here at Willoughby Academy. Self-confidence and enthusiasm combined with energy and perseverance are a prerequisite.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- To assist with developing an understanding of learning needs of students and the use of this knowledge to support them to become independent learners in the classroom
- To participate in the preparation of the classroom as required
- To provide useful learning strategies in order to develop a range of literacy and numeracy skills
- To be available for the supervision and monitoring of students at specific duties including; break, lunchtime duties and before and after school duties

- Apply behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policy.

- Communicate with teachers to ensure clarity of the TA’s role.
- Apply teaching strategies to deliver learning activities or interventions.
- Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.
- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Your training plan
- To train for Level 3 Teaching Assistant standard and work with the Priory Apprenticeships to support coursework assignments and observations, ensuring that all deadlines are met
- Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- Teaching Assistant workshops located in Lincoln, typically held once a month

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)

- Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will be qualified as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant and will be able to apply for roles requiring this qualification
