Summary

You’ll study for BSc Honours Degree in Digital & Technology Solutions over 3-years at Sheffield Hallam Uni. Through training, workplace projects and day-to-day work, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to get the future you want! We will also provide significant technical and soft skills training to ensure both personal and technical growth.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The technology solutions that we develop and implement for our clients have the scope to transform business outcomes – resulting in huge commercial successes. You will be central to ensuring this level of potential is achieved, supporting and guiding clients through the entire process, and applying meticulous attention to detail to every challenge that you are faced with.

There are several different roles available on the Digital & Technology Solutions Apprenticeship.  On your application form, please select the role that you feel is most aligned to you from the list below. (Multiple Choice)

  • Software Developer within Cloud & Custom Application (C&CA) – candidates will have a passion for coding and have an interest in implementing bug fixes and exploring improvements through code changes.  
  • Software Developer within Digital Customer Experience (DCX)  – candidates will have a passion for coding, programming, problem solving and requirement gathering/analysis.
  • Software Developer within Insights & Data (I&D) – candidates will have a passion for coding, data analytics and data scraping. 
  • Technical Consultant within Oracle Technologies (ERP Cloud)  –  candidates will have a passion for coding and / or infrastructure, enjoy problem solving and relish the opportunity to transform our client's businesses through technology.
  • Functional Consultant within Oracle & Workday Technologies (ERP Cloud)   – candidates will have a passion for technology and relish the opportunity to work on projects helping to guide and transform how our global clients manage and operate, streamlining processes and enhancing business operations.
  • Technical Consultant within (SAP)  – candidates will have an interest in designing, building & testing  SAP Code, SAP interfaces, migrating data to SAP data and/or SAP cloud based technology.
  • Functional Consultant within (SAP)  – candidates will have an interest in designing, building, testing and implementing SAP transformations for our clients and/or in learning to manage SAP Projects.

  • Research and evaluate emerging network technologies and assess relevance to current network requirements. Provide an objective opinion on how new features and technologies may be incorporated as required by the organisation.
  • Investigate security concerns or attacks. For example, Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS), port scanning, assessing key metrics and indicators, evidencing the chosen steps to mitigate.

Other requirements

This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to work from your base location up to two to three days per week. Additional travel to client sites may be required, depending on project needs. To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements. Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
