Summary

We are a happy, family friendly medical practice who are looking to recruit a bright, enthusiastic Apprentice to work with our established team, many of whom came through the Apprenticeship Programme themselves. We are looking for someone who is looking to learn and present themselves in a smart and professional manner.

Annual wage
£12,480 a year

If candidate is required to regularly join the rota for 7:45 am start or 6:45 pm finish then a pay increase would be made

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Greeting patients by phone and face to face
  • Scanning and filing documents
  • Registering new patients
  • Working with the team to meet our targets

Course contents
  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Your training plan

The successful candidate will work towards achieving their Apprenticeship Standard in Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner.

A dedicated work-based trainer will be assigned to the candidate to provide them with support and guidance throughout the course. This is a prominently work-based programme with College attendance required once a month. All learning will take place at the candidate's place of employment/College and within their contracted working hours.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English & Maths (grade A*/9 - C/4)

Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

After this apprenticeship

We have kept every apprentice on after their initial contract.  Some eventually moved on to other jobs and some have stayed for 10 plus years, but there will be opportunities to pursue a different direction within the Practice.
