Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Assist in lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Support individual and group learning activities.
- Monitor and report student progress to teachers.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Provide additional support for students with special needs or learning difficulties.

- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.
