Summary
You will be taught by some of the best chefs in the area, working as part of a small team of chef’s producing & serving quality fresh food for our busy and popular Country Inn awarded for culinary excellence. You can expect fresh, seasonal ingredients with modern British Cuisines from our famous Signature Dishes to traditional favourites.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Preparing fresh food to order for our country inn, carvery and spa
- Catering for events such as weddings as we have a function room
- Helping to devise specials and prepare afternoon teas
- Ordering, storing and keeping record of stock
- Cleaning down during and after service
- Working with the team to promote a good customer experience

Your training plan
- You will study the Commis Chef level 2 apprenticeship whilst being fully supported and mentored by the head chef and catering team
- You will attend college on a weekly basis, spending time in the training kitchens at the Buxton Campus receiving training from industry -qualified and very experienced staff (college transport is available).
- If you require maths & English qualifications, there may be an opportunity to study Functional Skills as part for your apprenticeship depending on your personal circumstances

- Food/Catering related subject (grade Any)

Other requirements
Please consider how you will get to work each day, the public bus service is poor. From Leek, you could consider the Moorlands Connect local, bookable, bus service or ask friends and family if they're able to support you if you do not already have your own transport. You will be required to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis. We are open all year round, including Bank Holidays, except for Christmas Day when we close so that all staff can enjoy time with family and friends.
