Summary
As an Apprenticeship Food and Beverage, you are responsible for welcoming guests and working across several areas of food and beverage your placement to deliver an excellent guest and member experience. An Apprenticeship Food and Beverage will also be required to manage guest queries.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Able to work in all areas of food and beverage including Bar, restaurant, events & weddings and spa
- Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
- Take and deliver customer orders, consistently demonstrating high levels of customer service
- Prepare set ups for tables
- Follow cash handling procedures
- Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Up-sell with latest departmental incentives
- Ensure compliance of brand standards
- Strive to achieve departmental targets
- Ensure cleanliness of work areas
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
- Comply with local licensing laws
- Be environmentally aware
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

Course contents
Your training plan
- You will study the Hospitality Team Member level 2 apprenticeship whilst being fully supported and mentored by the head chef and catering team.
- You will attend college on a weekly basis, spending time at the Buxton Campus receiving training from industry-qualified and very experienced staff (college transport is available).
- If you require maths & English qualifications there may be an opportunity to study Functional Skills as part fo your apprenticeship depending on your personal circumstances.

Other requirements
Please consider how you will get to work each day, the public bus service is poor. From Leek, you could consider the Moorlands Connect local, bookable, bus service or ask friends and family if they're able to support you if you do not already have your own transport. You will be required to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis. We are open all year round, including Bank Holidays, except for Christmas Day when we close so that all staff can enjoy time with family and friends.
