Summary
We are currently looking for candidates who are interested in becoming apprentices and joining the carpentry sector of the building world. This will be a 3-year course where you'll work under the guidance and direction of an experienced carpenter or craftsperson, you’ll carry out all aspects of carpentry from new build homes to refurbishments.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Learn the process of understanding drawings and work in accordance with specifications
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Follow health & safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) where needed
- Use various tools, equipment and materials safely

- Roofing
- First fixing
- Window installation
- Cladding
- Decking
- Second fixing
- Kitchen installation
- Finals

Your training plan
During this course you will be attending college once a week with the rest of the week spent on site. The college course will be 2 years and once it's completed you will gain your Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery and spend the final year as an improver honing your skills!
Functional skills level 2 in English and maths if required.

Essential qualifications
Other in:
- CSCS Card (grade This is required for site work)
Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- Maths and English (grade Minimum Level 3)

After this apprenticeship
- Once the apprenticeship has been completed you will be able a fully qualified carpenter and have the option to stay on with us as a subcontractor
