Summary

You will be using computer aided design software to produce detailed drawings, both in 2D and 3D software. This is an office-based role, and will involve communicating with customers, clients and other staff via email and telephone.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Preparing detailed designs for projects using 2D and 3D CAD
  • Communicating designs to the design team and customers
  • Preparing initial design briefs
  • Assessing and reporting on quality standards of the projects via the digital environment

For the right person, there is the opportunity to develop skills in design and drawing techniques within a fast-paced, busy workplace. On completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to produce drawings and designs to industry standards and regulations.

Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Level 3.

Remote sessions for the BTEC qualification would be undertaken during the academic year.

Assessments would take place in the workplace every 8 weeks.

Two examinations would need to be undertaken at the Training Providers site in Barnsley. You would also need to attend a surveying course in Barnsley for a week as well.

  • Science (grade 4)

After this apprenticeship
