This role is varied and covers a wide range of specialisations, including food and beverage service. Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

DUTIES

  • Taking bookings
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Supporting guests: Providing information and services to customers, and anticipating their needs 
  • Serving food and drinks 
  • Promoting services: Promoting food, drinks, or services to customers 
  • Maintaining cleanliness: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation 
  • Handling cash: Handling cash, and ensuring all expenditure is covered by a receipt or invoice 
  • Monitoring stock: Monitoring stock, wastage, and use-by dates

This Apprenticeship is delivered wholly in the workplace. The successful candidate will not need to attend any weekly sessions at East Riding College in Beverley unless Maths or English is required as part of the Apprenticeship.

About this company

We are a beautiful quirky family run eatery set on platform 2 of Cottingham Station.   We serve a wide range of dishes, with our menu's carefully composed by our fabulous head chef, Wendy. Using local butchers, fish merchants and  produce from Chef  Wendy’s allotment, allowing us to change the menu with the seasons. We offer breakfast, brunch, lunch and on the first Friday of the month our popular supper clubs.
