To respond to the needs of the local community in providing a childcare provision for children from 2 to 5 years, with diverse needs and backgrounds. To develop learning programmes and supervise the children's activities within the Day Nursery.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- To undertake a developmental programme leading to an Early Years Qualification as part of an apprenticeship which is achieved within the given timescale.
- To actively participate in your own development plan working through the qualification with the qualification provider
and with the nursery setting too. - To undertake induction training in the nursery with a named mentor.
- To keep your mentor informed of your progress and to raise any concerns or issues with them.
- To support the nursery staff to observe, plan and maintain accurate children's records.
- To develop a sound understanding of safeguarding policies.
- Undertake a shared responsibility for the care of children, health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.

Whilst completing this childcare apprenticeship the learner will be provided with an understanding in multiple areas of childcare including:
- Early years development of children and young people in communication and personal development.
- How to develop a positive and caring environment for children and young people.
- Build and maintain a relationship with children and young people.
- Why health and well-being is important for babies and children.
Upon completion you will have gained:
- Early Years Educator Level 3
- First Aid
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 2 or Entry 3 Functional Skill)
- Maths (grade 2 or Entry 3 Functional Skill)
- Early Years Practitioner (grade Level 2)
