This opportunity is to develop your skills & grow professionally. You’ll work with the Leeds Operations team, supporting daily administrative duties. You’ll also be surrounded by supportive colleagues, who will share their knowledge and help you develop a solid understanding of what it takes to make Northern go round.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Book on/off duty and follow sickness reporting procedures
- Check and sign for station floats, including cash balances
- Distribute mail and communications to the right people
- Organise meetings and prepare required documents
- Maintain logs and databases for attendance and performance
- Be the main point of contact for administrative support
- Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Assist operational teams during disruptions - Accurately complete FASTIS/Avantix sheets as required
- Report any faults in logs
- Clean cash recycling machines regularly and log it
- Send reports for cash discrepancies above agreed limits to management
- Coordinate with teams regarding change and locked stock items
