Summary
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust has 3 Nurseries for the staff of the hospital taking in children from 6 months to 5 years Monday to Friday. We provide the children with a safe, stimulating, caring and anti-discriminatory environment. We want to recruit a Nursery Assistant Apprentice permanently who has the right values and attitudes.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- We are looking to recruit a motivated person,ideally with childcare qualifications. You will need to be enthusiastic, reliable flexible and caring with knowledge of the EYFS
- Active member of the Team in providing a safe, stimulating and emotionally safe environment for children aged 6 months to 5 years
- To provide for the children’s physical needs-feeding, changing, toileting, washing etc.
- To develop good relationships with the parents and encourage them to be involved in the care of their child in the Nursery.
To communicate effectively with other staff and parents about the children’s daily needs - Ensuring children’s development is met through the EYFS seven areas of learning and learning through play
- Ensuring the planning and activities meet the needs of all the children in their group/room
- Ability to respond to the requirements for caring for children both indoors and out
- To be able to meet the physical demands of babies and young children

Your training plan
- You will be working towards a Nationally recognised Level Early Years Educator Apprenticeship award qualification whilst gaining experience of working in a nursery
- There is a operate on a hybrid model of delivery with a mixture of face-to-face and remote visits. This includes a face-to-face observation at the end of each of the 3 themes of learning. Learners will access all online learning via Aptem and have the opportunity to attend a variety of ‘Learn at Lunch’ webinars also
- You will gain a full paediatric first aid (PFA) or an emergency PFA certificate and English and maths level2 (if required)
- You will learn about Health, safety and relationships; Child development; Inclusion and Professional Development in Early Years
