Summary
We are looking for graduates to join our August 2025 intake in our Business Tax team. In this team, you will be looking for exciting new opportunities for clients and supporting them through any changes that will impact their business. The nature of your work will flex in line with our clients’ situations - no day is ever the same.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- To prepare and complete corporation tax returns, partnership tax computations and capital gains tax computations for a range of corporate clients, under the supervision of a manager
- Prepare draft correspondence on client matters for review
- Discuss and solve basic queries directly with clients, on the telephone and in face-to-face meetings, whilst referring more detailed queries to managers/ partners as appropriate
- Upon completion of training, to identify opportunities for tax planning
- Produce clear and technically accurate letters and computations for submission to HM Revenue & Customs and clients

Course contents

- Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. Adapt communications to suit different situations, individuals or teams.
- Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
- Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
- Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.
Your training plan
Accountancy or Taxation Professional Level 7 Apprenticeship Standard:
- New joiners in this team have the unique opportunity to gain not one but two chartered qualifications over 39 months: the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and the ACA qualification
- You will study towards the qualifications via a Level 7 Accountancy or taxation professional apprenticeship, building not only on your technical skills, but also on your personal and professional development
- Training consists of a combination of courses at the tutors’ offices, private study and regular exams, as well as on-the-job training
- You will have paid study leave to support you in the run up to exams and all course and exam fees are paid for
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English Language (grade Level 6/B)
- Maths (grade Level 6/B)
- Any (grade 120 UCAS points)
- Degree in any discipline (grade 2:1)
