Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Content Marketing:

- Responsible for plotting content themes on the marketing calendar.

- Writes and schedules emails each week.

- Repurposes eshots as blogs and uploads them, with a suitable image, to the website.

- Creates graphics for LinkedIn and schedules a post linking to the blog.

- Create a further three/four ‘general interest’ LinkedIn posts every week, highlighting work we have completed, resources we have created and events we have attended.

Online engagement: Review the LinkedIn accounts of all ‘warm leads’ and ‘hot prospects’ every week, liking, commenting and sharing any new content. As appropriate, content should be shared via Slack to encourage others within the business to engage.

Marketing plan: Be familiar with the broader marketing plan, brand guidelines, keywords for SEO, budget and all key measurement metrics.

Asset library: Take responsbilibity for maintaining a library of assets to use in marketing to both existing clients and prospects. This includes photos, videos, case studies, mockups and brochures (both print and digital). On a weekly basis, write new case studies and expand existing case studies by including details of projects delivered the previous week.

CRM: Continually update the CRM with new prospect data, ensuring contacts are segmented and tagged appropriately. Support the wider team to clean and segment data as appropriate.

Website: Has ownership of minor amends to the text and images on the website, as requested by colleagues.

Account based marketing support: Supports the Marketing Manager to implement our quarterly ‘Beacon Blueprint’ campaigns whereby we use account based marketing strategies to target specific companies which we would like to work with. This includes creating tailored landing pages, resources, emails, gated content, blogs and marketing literature, in addition to coordinating physical mailings.

Events: Attend exhibitions and conferences as appropriate, joining the team in chatting to potential prospects and collecting data to be added to the CRM.

  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.
