Summary

Our industry leading apprenticeship development scheme enables you to pour the foundations for a successful career with the largest distributor of building materials in the UK. This is anything but ‘just a job’. You’ll be working whilst completing our bespoke 13 month scheme, giving you the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of our operation.

For the first 6 months your salary will be £9.60 per hour, and this will grow as you grow and develop, you will graduate the apprentice programme on £11.60 per hour.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Understand about the builders merchant industry, the market and our industry, you'll learn how to sell by providing great service, you’ll gain a deep understanding of our product base and so much more.

The role will be hard work, inside and outside, serving on the counter, answering calls/emails, working in the yard and warehouse, accepting deliveries and getting deliveries ready for distribution by our drivers.

We’ll teach you about our safety first approach - our number one priority is to keep our colleagues safe and well, and that’s down to all of us so you’ll need a real focus on this.

  • Your training plan

    Trade Supplier Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

    • Your learning will be “on the job” with time set aside each week to complete any necessary coursework, and there’s no expectation to take work home with you
    • You’ll have a dedicated apprenticeship coach who’ll support you every step of the way and you’ll receive 1:1 coaching, mentoring and technical and skills training to enable you to progress your career with us
