Summary
We have an opportunity to join our exciting sales office based in Wakefield. You will be required to handle a wide range of tasks and general day-to-day admin in the office as well as supporting credit control in an administrative role. You need good communication skills as you will be focused on supporting existing customers with enquiries.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The Ideal Candidate
- Will need to be a good communicator and confident to answer phone calls and deal with customer enquiries.
- Working independently and with other members of the team.
- The ability to work to a high standard and pay close attention to detail.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Basic computer literacy required but training will be provided where necessary.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
- You will work closely with the sales office manager in the processing of customers’ orders, and all associated administration.
- Updating and maintaining customer records.
- Assisting with monthly figures and uploading data accordingly.
- Assisting with dispatch of goods and invoicing.
- Working with the accounts manager to assist with some credit control.
This list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the business manager which is relevant to your role within the company to meet the overall business needs. The role will evolve as time and duties progress.

Your training plan
As a Business Administrator Apprentice, you will complete the following qualifications as part of your Apprenticeship:
- Level 3 Business Administrator Standard Apprenticeship.
- Level 2 Functional Skills maths and English if not already achieved.
You will also develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work within an office environment. This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated towards training and learning new skills. You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessment at pre-arranged times.
Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.
