Summary
An Autocare Technician requires a unique combination of technical, retail and customer services skills. They will use a range of tools, measuring and diagnostic equipment to identify and repair simple system faults.

Wages: £200.00 per week, based on 40 hours per week for the first 12 months, after this time the employer will pay at least the national living wage for their age for the remaining duration of the apprenticeship programme.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Completing general vehicle servicing
- Maintenance tasks including in time more complex tasks such as head gaskets
- Cambelt renewal
- MOT repairs
This role will also involve the successful candidate attending Skills Group one day per week for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- Maths and English (grade 1-9)

A candidate with a driving licence would be desirable however this is not essential.

After this apprenticeship
- On completion of the level 2 apprenticeship the suitable candidate would then be considered for progression onto the level 3 advanced apprenticeship
- There will also be an opportunity in the future to complete specialist courses such as hybrid and electrical vehicle training
