Hours
Normal hours of work are 37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute break. Flexible start and finish times as long as the 37.5 hours are fulfilled. Core hours are 9.00am to 4.00pm and Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 12.00pm Friday.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assist in updating or creating documents and procedures for the Quality Management System, such as Work Instructions and Standard Operating Instructions (SOI’s)
  • Liaise with other departments such as central maintenance and purchasing under supervision
  • Support the Cell Leader on productivity and quality issues
  • Learn to prepare and issue basic 2D and 3D engineering drawings, ensuring revisions are controlled
  • Participate in tooling management and gradually take responsibility for ordering and designing simple tools
  • Assist in process documentation and machine setup under the guidance of a mentor
  • Support the Quality Engineer and production teams in identifying product quality issues
  • Learn how to research and suggest basic process improvements
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and gain exposure to cost-saving strategies
  • Shadow improvement teams and gradually take on small tasks
  • Assist in qualification, delivery, relocation, and basic asset management tasks
  • Help create and manage purchase specifications under supervision
  • Learn how to conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site
  • Acceptance Tests (SAT) for equipment
  • Participate in small projects using structured methodologies
  • Assist in maintaining project action plans and tracking project progress
  • Contribute to process evaluations and learn how to create engineering reports
  • Oversee with supervision the MMS App projects
