Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- As a Furniture Manufacturer, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling wooden structures, such as cabinets and furniture as well as using machinery within the warehouse
- Measure, cut, and shape wood pieces according to specifications
- Assemble wooden components using screws, nails, or adhesives
- Install hardware, such as hinges and handles
- Sand and finish surfaces to ensure smoothness
- Repair or replace damaged wooden structures
- Use Spindle Moulder Machine & Sliding Table Saw to complete projects
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to complete projects
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
