Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • As a Furniture Manufacturer, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling wooden structures, such as cabinets and furniture as well as using machinery within the warehouse
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood pieces according to specifications
  • Assemble wooden components using screws, nails, or adhesives
  • Install hardware, such as hinges and handles
  • Sand and finish surfaces to ensure smoothness
  • Repair or replace damaged wooden structures
  • Use Spindle Moulder Machine & Sliding Table Saw to complete projects
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to complete projects
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
