Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Picking to meet customer orders using modern technology such as voice picking
- Safe use of packing equipment such as spin-wrap machines
- Learning skills in despatch, organising loads for loading onto articulated vehicles
- Assisting with goods inwards, breaking pallets down and checking incoming deliveries
- Learning about traceability and effective food safety and quality control
- Stock control operations such as counting stock and stock administration
- Picking up Microsoft Office skills with administration of stock using key programs such as Microsoft Excel
- Loading articulated vehicles with the assistance of forklift drivers
- Be immersed in a team with years of collective warehouse storage and distribution experience
