Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Apply decorative laminates to composite panels used in aircraft interiors
  • Potting of inserts into composite structures with precision and care 
  • Bond various brackets, equipment, and inserts using a range of adhesives 
  • Assemble and bond components and sub-assemblies in accordance with detailed engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ensure all work meets the required quality standards and adheres to strict procedural guidelines
  • Conduct self-inspections to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
  • Maintain strict health and safety practices within the composite area, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Operate and utilise various hand tools and air tools in a precise and effective manner
  • Interpret and understand detailed engineering drawings and procedures to complete tasks to exacting standards
