Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

We are looking for a creative individual who is passionate about social media/ content creating to maintain and grow our social media platforms and website.

Job Description:

  • Create and develop written and audio-visual content to be used across a variety of social media platforms and company website.
  • Manage and update all social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and maintain shops attached to these.
  • Update the company website, engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create, develop and manage content for our kitchen and bathroom showrooms.
  • Create and tailor marketing material across the business and for events, to suit the target audience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to plan and create visual and audio content in line with the business objectives.
  • Listing Electrical and Plumbing items on eBay and company website.
  • Dealing with enquiries from eBay.
  • Support with general administration duties for the online sales.
  • Support with the packaging of items sold via online sales.

  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

  • Your training plan

    • To achieve apprenticeship framework (Functional Skills, NVQ and Technical Certificate) within the specified time frame for Content Creator Level 3 Apprenticehsip at Barnsley College
    •  Attend the apprenticeship induction programme
    • Attend all of the training sessions for the programme whenever necessary, 6 hours off the job training per week.
    • Undertake any other required development work as part of the apprenticeship programme as requested
    • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by senior staff.

    GCSE in:

    • English (grade C/4 or above)
    • Maths (grade C/4 or above)
