Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

About the Role:

As an Apprentice you will be provided with the necessary training and support to enable you to carry out your duties. These will likely include:

  • Provide support to the Marketing team in a range of day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Maintaining electronic diaries for the department, including arranging meetings, issuing invitations, booking venues, and assisting with the distribution of relevant information
  • Using your initiative to handle issues in order to provide the team with effective support
  • Liaising with teams in other divisions/ departments across the Company
  • Acting as a representative of and key point-of-contact within the team, supporting them with projects and/or workloads as required
  • Dealing with general telephone and email enquiries
  • Creation of various documents e.g., meeting planners and organisation charts using standardised templates
  • Support the team with financial promotions, following appropriate procedures to ensure all promotions are reviewed, logged, and signed off by Compliance (where required)
  • Support the team with the administrative tasks of running events and webinars including creating invites (printed and digital), managing attendee lists (extracting data via Tableau and cross referencing with other data points), being a host/point of contact at in-person events, processing CPD certificates, and helping to compile reports
  • General ad hoc duties as required, including scanning, filing, and minuting team meetings
     

About You:

  • You don’t need to have any previous work experience. What we are looking for from you is commitment, a desire to learn and a willingness to contribute. You will need to have the following:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4, including English and maths
  • A willingness to learn and to develop new skills.
  • A professional, methodical, and organised approach, with good time management
  • Good attention to detail particularly with written information
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge when appropriate
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

    Digital Marketer Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

    • You will receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills
    • Your training will include gaining a internationally recognised Level 3 qualification
