Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work in our Early Years setting alongside the Early Years lead. You will be working with our SEND children in the nursery / reception setting and supported by a mentor when on your apprenticeship journey.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Overview:
You will be involved in assisting the Early Years’ lead in planning and carrying provision inside and out. Your role will include:
- Helping to plan lessons and prepare teaching materials
- Supervising arts and crafts
- Organising group activities
- You will work closely with parents and staff members
- Setting out the activity rooms
- Reading to the children
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
- Helping staff to plan learning activities and complete records
- Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
- Clearing away materials and equipment after sessions
- Taking part in training
- Provide play and learning opportunities and maintain high standards of quality care and educational provision
- To be a role model at all times to children, families, fellow practitioners, students and those from the local community
- End of day duties - you need to ensure final standards within your area by ensuring preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of your nursery playroom and equipment
- Welcoming environment - ensuring a strict door policy is adhered to and encouraging a close relationship between yourself and parents
- Constantly ensure the general standards of your area are high and good practice is followed

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

- Maths (grade 9-4 / A*-C / Level 2)

Other requirements
You will be working outdoors in all weathers to support the children’s learning. When working in a school you must consider that you will not be allowed to take time off for holidays during term time. Please consider where the school is situated, you may need to check public transport or have your own. Short listing will take place first with BAC as a pre interview followed by interview and possible work trial with employer.
