Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, approachable and professional candidate to work as an Administrative Assistant in our Saltash Office. The role will require providing administration assistance to our busy, friendly team of lawyers, greeting clients and helping with the efficient running of the office.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • To answer the telephone in an appropriate manner and time, take messages and transfer calls as necessary.
  • To greet clients in a courteous manner and deal with their enquiry efficiently.
  • Monitor and respond to general emails.
  • General office administration duties such as filing, checking stationery and assisting with the postage of documents.
  • Providing assistance to lawyers in drafting documents.
  • Preparing marketing leaflets.

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

    You will receive specific on the job training from the employer in your workplace at Roper James Solicitors.

    Off the job training will be delivered using weekly classroom sessions delivered at Achievement Training city centres location or you will be work based and will be given time in the working week to study towards the theory element of the programme. You will be working towards:

    • Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship Standard
    • Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths (A*-C or 9-4 GSCE) will need to achieve this level before the end of their apprenticeship

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • English & Maths (grade C/4)
