Summary

To actively support the needs and ethos of the organisation by contributing to an efficient and robust recruitment process in line with safer recruitment practice. To support the Workforce Development Manager in HR tasks; issuing employment documents, minute taking, people development, onboarding and workforce analytics.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • To work with the Workforce Development Manager to ensure the smooth running of the recruitment process
  • To ensure that all job enquiries are dealt with in line with department KPI’s
  • To follow Safer Recruitment policy at all times
  • To interview candidates alongside senior staff
  • To organise interviews and liaise with relevant internal and external parties
  • To manage all candidate correspondence through the recruitment and selection process
  • To deal with telephone enquiries regarding recruitment
  • Professionally reject unsuccessful candidate CV’s
  • To attend weekly meetings to review and forecast recruitment needs
  • To ensure that all recruitment databases are kept up to date
  • Assist in the creation of required monthly reports
  • To ensure that all recruitment and selection paperwork is filed correctly
  • Any other recruitment tasks as required

  • Service Delivery: Delivers excellent customer service on a range of HR queries and requirements, providing solutions, advice and support primarily to managers. Builds managers’ expertise in HR matters, improving their ability to handle repeated situations themselves where appropriate. Uses agreed systems and processes to deliver service to customers. Takes the initiative to meet agreed individual and team KPIs in line with company policy, values, standards. Plans and organises their work, often without direct supervision, to meet commitments and KPIs.
  • Problem Solving: Uses sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes before developing HR solutions. Takes ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
  • Communication & Interpersonal: Deals effectively with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills and communicating well through a range of media eg phone, face to face, email, internet. Adapts their style to their audience. Builds trust and sound relationships with customers. Handles conflict and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially.
  • Teamwork: Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within the team and HR to achieve results. Builds/maintains strong working relationships with others in the team and across HR where necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve HR performance and service; acts on them within the authority of their role. Supports implementation of HR changes/projects with the business.
  • Managing HR Information: Maintains required HR records as part of services delivered. Prepares reports and management information from HR data, with interpretation as required.
  • Personal Development: Keeps up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy/process changes relevant to their role. Seeks feedback and acts on it to improve their performance and overall capability.

    You will work towards gaining an industry recognised Level 3 qualification in HR Support and throughout your apprenticeship you will receive support and training from specialist staff within the iMap Centre, with onsite and remote apprenticeship training delivered by our specialist training provider, Smart Training & Recruitment Ltd.

    A permanent role as an HR Co-ordinator (salary increment). As a company we are in a stage of growth and would like our apprentice to grow with the business. The Workforce Development Team cover Business Administration, HR and People Practice, Recruitment and Learning and Development so there will be lots of opportunities for growth and progression over the next 12-24 months. We will be able to offer a qualification in In-House Recruitment fully funded as part of a permanent role, alongside potential opportunities for further CIPD qualifications.

    We work in a location that is difficult to access via public transport. The nearest bus stop is approximately 2 miles from site. Applicants would need to consider their ability to get to work independently.
