Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

A fantastic opportunity to join Dogs County Club Team as a Doggy Day Care Assistant Apprentice.

Do you enjoy working outdoors with dogs of all shapes and sizes? Are you passionate about dogs?

If yes, then this may be the ideal role for you!
 
Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Providing a caring, stimulating, and safe environment for all dogs
  • General supervision of the dogs
  • Ensuring a plentiful supply of water
  • Ensuring dog waste is removed
  • Tending to the dogs thoughtfully, gently, and with care
  • Feeding the dogs correctly (measured and on time)
  • Greeting customers and their dogs

The business operating hours are from 6.30am to 7.30pm and shifts patterns of 6.50am to 1.00pm and 12.50pm to 7.00pm and they will vary.

Your training plan

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment
  • The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Apprenticeship Standard
  • The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Maths and English (grade C or 4)

KEITS Training Services Ltd reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
