Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

This role is for someone who is looking to become a Optical Technician in the future, duties include the following;
• Manufacture and fitting of optical lenses
• Stock control
• Checking and quality audit
• Liaising with customers and suppliers
• Engraving on frames
• General housekeeping of the work station
• Ensure the equipment is clean and maintained
• Tinting lenses
• Repairs and ensuring products are manufactured to correct British standards
• Preparing orders for delivery and post
