Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Job Role
- To assemble the mechanical and electrical elements of Waters Mass Spectrometry products in line with business requirements
- To process customer orders for dispatch in line with the departmental process
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures (safety, employment, expenses, training, PPE etc).
- To ensure the implementation and recording of engineering change is carried out effectively within the department.
- To configure and prepare instruments/upgrades to relevant procedures and build specifications in readiness for New Product Operation Test.
- Ensure equipment/tools used are within calibration.

The successful applicant will be working towards an Apprenticeship in Engineering Fitter. This will include NVQ L3, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills.

Please be aware you will be working in the company and will also be required to attend Alliance Learning for the Day release / Block release training.

GCSE in:

- Maths (grade A-C (4-9))

Other requirements
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £6.40per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16 to18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
