Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Welcome children in with a smile and a hug, offer them breakfast and comfort them if they’re upset
- Set up age-appropriate activities that your team will help you plan
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Learn how to work collaboratively with parents and other staff members to support children's individual needs
- Learn to observe and assess children’s play and behaviour so that any areas of concern can be identified
- Learn how to accurately record the children’s activities and progress to track their development
- Learn about and follow safeguarding and health and safety guidelines
