Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As an IT Support Apprentice, you will:
· Be the first point of call for colleagues across the business, diagnosing and assisting them with their issues over the phone and via email.
· Work as part of a team to resolve incidents and requests within a given SLA.
· Work with our 3rd party support providers to ensure incidents are resolved.
· Liaise with end users to ensure they are kept informed about the progress of their issue.
· Be able to diagnose and resolve common software and hardware issues.
· Discuss and explain issues with users in a non-technical way where required, to gather the right information to progress their issue.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:
· Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
· Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
· Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
· Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
· Support the information systems needs for your business.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 9-4)
- Maths (grade 9-4)
Desirable qualifications
A Level in:
- IT Qualification (grade Pass)

Other requirements
As an apprentice, your key responsibilities will be to assist the first line engineers with day-to-day tasks and troubleshooting. These tasks can range from password resets, setting up new laptops/PCs or setting up printers. This is a customer facing role as you will be responsible for emailing and phoning end users while also taking in coming calls to troubleshoot and resolve issues for end users.
