Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Front of House role covering the hotel Restaurant, Reception, Events Venue and Spa. This is to include but not limited to waiting at tables, bar work, laying tables, assisting guests, helping the kitchen team. 

Main duties will include:

  • Engaging with customers to determine their needs and establishing a good rapport
  • Delivering excellent customer service in line with the business standards, with the aim of exceeding customer expectations
  • Checking that customers are satisfied with products and services, and act on any feedback in line with company procedures
  • Promoting the business and helping to identify opportunities to increase sales
  • Carefully handling payments, transactions, and stock
  • Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of company products and services, prices and special offers, and matching them to the customer’s needs
  • Awareness of the business’ unique selling points, promotions and marketing campaigns
  • Recognising and understanding legislative responsibilities relating to the business
  • Supporting team members to ensure products and services are delivered on time and to a high standard
