Summary
The main role of an Apprentice Sports Coach is to support the PE teachers with the planning and delivery of the school’s sports provision, which includes PE lessons, lunch time games and extracurricular clubs. A suitable candidate will be energetic, flexible, reliable and self-motivated.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Support the work of school staff to deliver high-quality PE and school sports
- To support and deliver extracurricular activities to include after-school clubs
- Support the development of PE and school sports
- Set up, take down and store activity equipment
- Promote health, safety, and welfare in PE and school sports
- Support Equality and Diversity in PE and school sport
- Provide high-quality sports coaching during and after school to help develop positive lifelong habits which promote a healthy lifestyle
- Improve links with local schools to help with competitive sport and physical activity provision
- Increase the physical activity levels within the school
- Assist with improvement of staff development within the area of Physical Education and School Sports
- Contribute to keeping pupils safe by following the school’s safeguarding policy and procedures
- To assist the school in its day-to-day duties
- To contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- Other GCSE or equivalent in English (grade Grade 4-9 or equivalent)
