Due to the success and growth of the business MSG are now looking to recruit one accountancy apprentice to join their team and support the finance team within their day to day duties. Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties include but are not limited to the following -

  • Posting and reconciling banks
  • Posting Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable invoices
  • Managing fixed assets – additions, disposals and depreciation
  • Preparing month end accruals and prepayments
  • Assisting with production of month end management accounts
  • Managing the finance inbox
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with ad hoc finance project work
  • General admin duties

Course contents
  • Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
  • Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
  • Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
  • Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
  • Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
  • Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
  • Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
  • Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Your training plan

    The Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard includes 6 AAT exams, in addition to the Synoptic Assessment as part of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) process. You will receive an AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting upon successful completion.

    The knowledge units will be delivered at the EMA training hub in Nottingham (depending on apprentices’ location) through day release.

    AAT Modules are as follows:

    • Introduction to Bookkeeping (L2 Unit)
    • Principles of Bookkeeping (L2 Unit)
    • Management Accounting Techniques
    • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
    • Business Awareness
    • Tax Processes for Business

    Requirements

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE in:

    • English (grade 4/C)
    • Maths (grade 5/B)

    After this apprenticeship

    MSG Tours are keen to progress the apprentice through the various levels of AAT once completing level 3 AAT,with plans to progress onto higher study with the capability and willingness to progress further onto chartered status.
