Summary

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
You will work across the wider Learning Support Team, gaining experience of how learning support works in the college. You will develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of the different ways our students can be supported. This role will involve working alongside our Administrators and our EHCP Coordinator.
Tasks will include:
- Assisting learning support staff in classroom sessions
- Attending learning support meetings with a mentor or teacher
- Assisting students in using assistive technology
- Use various ICT applications and software
- Sending invitations to review meetings and collating responses
- Develop your administrative and communication skills as part of your apprenticeship programme
- Uploading information to students’ records for teachers and support staff to read
- Dealing with student enquiries face-to-face
