Inclusive Sport, based in Kent, is seeking a creative and driven Social Media Apprentice to join our passionate team. We use sport and physical activity to empower individuals with disabilities and improve lives across Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and grow within a purpose-driven organization.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Responsibilities:

Assist in creating, planning, and scheduling engaging content for our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
Work closely with the marketing and events team to support campaigns and community outreach efforts.
Develop an understanding of our audience to ensure all communications are accessible, inclusive, and reflective of our mission and values.
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions across social media channels in a timely and professional manner.
Help track social media performance and report on engagement and growth using analytics tools.
Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure fresh and relevant content.
Collaborate with the team to promote our projects, events, and success stories across all platforms.
Travel to locations such as Sittingbourne, Thanet, Canterbury, and Herne Bay to gather content for social media.

  • Interpret the aims of the brief.
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

    GCSE in:

    1. Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS): 2. Technical Proficiency in Digital Tools: o Familiarity with content creation and project management tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Trello, and Google Workspace. 3. Understanding of Branding: o Knowledge of how to create content that aligns with a brand’s identity, tone, and goals. Requirements: • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as part of the role. • Must be based in our office in Whitstable but willing to travel across Kent to gather content. • Enhanced DBS check (to be completed as part of the recruitment process). • Passion for social media, storytelling, and content creation. • Basic understanding of major social media platforms and how they function. • Willingness to learn and develop skills in digital marketing and social media management. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Creative mindset with an eye for design and visual content. • Keen interest in promoting inclusivity and community engagement through sport.
