Summary
Hippo are recruiting for a new Apprentice Social Value Advisor within their ESG team, reporting directly to the Head of ESG and Social Value. Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner qualification over 24 months. Upon completion, it becomes a full-time hybrid position with required office visits.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Support the development and delivery of Hippo’s Social Value Strategy and underpinning action plans
- Collate and record social value data using their Social Value Measurement Tool at project and business level identifying any risks to delivery allowing annual measurement of social value contribution
- Increase uptake of volunteering days/fundraising by building internal relationships to foster buy-in and help coordinate activities across all Hippo offices, supporting regional volunteering leads with research and planning
- Own and deliver a new educational engagement programme that will increase and diversify their talent pool
- Identify new and build on existing relationships with Voluntary, Charity and Social Enterprises to maximise social impact
- Work closely with Marketing to identify opportunities to promote Hippo’s social value proposition both internally and externally
- Work with the People Ops (HR) function- compiling up-to-date and accurate diversity data/reports and support with content for our Gender Pay Gap Reporting
- Act as a subject matter expert to drive forward social value agenda across internal forums, including Green Hippos and Volunteering Committee
- Support with data collection for the Carbon Reduction Plan, working in conjunction with their third-party provider and auditors to quality assure annual footprints
- Support the development and delivery of new initiatives within the business which create employment and training opportunities, particularly for people who face barriers to employment and/or come from under-represented groups
- Contribute towards Hippo’s sustainability assessments, such as Ecovadis, and help maintain relevant ISO accreditations
- Represent Hippo at external social value events and build relationships with external organisations
- Support the planning and hosting of internal/external events linked to social value
- Supporting the Head of Social Value with bid responses

Your training plan
As a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Apprentice, you’ll learn how to drive and innovate social and environmental change within your organisation. Whilst on programme, you’ll also receive a free membership to ICRS providing access to industry-focused events, resources, and an online community of aspiring CR&S professionals.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be invited to monthly 2-hour live sessions hosted online in addition to working on your course content via our online learning platform.
To meet the off-the-job requirements for your apprenticeship, you'll also spend a minimum of 6 hours a week within the workplace developing your CR&S knowledge, skills, and behaviours listed within your bespoke LDN Training Plan.
