Summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic apprentice. Applicants must be upbeat, keen to learn and passionate about working with young children. Applicants must be reliable and able to work co-operatively with others. You will be expected to adhere to the Nursery’s policies and procedures and the position is subject to a full DBS check.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Main activities include:
- Providing a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times
- Supporting or leading educational games & activities
- Conducting activities such as crafts, music, cooking etc.
- Preparing the learning environment with resources and displays
- Feeding and changing all age children including babies
- Observing and assessing children to help their learning and development
- To help ensure the preschool nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times
- To understand and work to preschool nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
- To be a key person
- To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments
- To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the preschool aims and objectives
