Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The apprentice will gain a good understanding of every role within the department and complete tasks such as:
- Goods inwards
- Parts advisor
- Learning the admin roles within the department
- Good house keeping skills
- Stock checking

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
You will study at Kirklees College with attendance one day a month over the full period of the apprenticeship.
The final year will involve completion of a portfolio and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the standard and is carried out by ESFA approved organisations independent from the college.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C or above)
- Maths (grade 4/C or above)
