Summary
The role of the Apprentice Administrative Assistant is to provide reception, secretarial & administrative support service to the Practice clinicians and to the Practice Manager.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Respond to all appointment requests and other telephone queries including discussing Dispensary related queries promptly and efficiently
- Taking and accurately recording all messages or queries received
- Liaise with members of Primary Health Care Team as directed by the Doctors, Practice Nurse or Practice Manager
- Action urgent requests for an ambulance
- Scanning and filing patients results
- To ensure all relevant correspondence has been processed correctly
- To scan all relevant correspondence into the correct patient electronic record in a timely and efficient manner
- Dealing will all hospital referrals and using the Choose & Book electronic booking system
- Liaising with hospital staff and/or primary health care staff and/or other NHS staff
- Photocopying/faxing/scanning as required
- Processing mail and post.
- Ordering stationery and medical supplies
- Scanning monthly VAT documents
- Running electronic activity audits
- Assisting the Doctors, Practice Nurses and Practice Manager with various administrative duties as required
- Dispensary Support
- Work collaboratively with the dispensing team to manage all workstreams in the Dispesnary
- Assisting Pharmacist and clinicians in the dispensary
