Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Welding a variety of fabrications from large frames to small brackets in mild steel and stainless steel
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Material preparation
- Maintaining a clean work area
- Reporting directly to the Production Manager and working in a team of 4 other experienced fabricator welders

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- 2/E (grade 2/E)

Other requirements
Must be able to reliably commute to factory, ideally with own transport. Although welding is the key focus of the role the candidate will be expected to participate in other areas of the business to gain a well-rounded knowledge of the manufacturing process and product.
