Summary
This is a role for a production chef cooking fresh food from scratch. You will be preparing breakfast, lunch and teas for our residents taking care of their individual nutritional needs. This job will give you the experience you need to work in the catering industry, and your skills will be in high demand for the foreseeable future.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
General duties include but not limited to:
- Menu planning
- Shopping
- Preparing and cooking, breakfast, lunch, tea’s and desserts for residents according to nutritional needs.
- Preparing fresh food from scratch
- Learning to produce food under a deadline.
- You will gain proper experience in your trade
- Food prep using fresh produce
- Learning new creative techniques and developing your skills
- Working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Learning organisational skills and good time management
- Learning how to create new dishes

Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer.
Day release
You will undertake Production Chef Level 2 standard.

You will undertake both on and off the job training by a team of industry qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience.

Other requirements
You will be supported by Doncaster Council’s adult social care apprenticeship incentive Scheme: • £400 worth of amazon voucher, to be paid in quarterly instalments, if on track with off the job training assignments. • Claim up to £100 worth of uniform/work clothing costs • Claim up to £28 per month travel expenses • Claim £5 reimbursement on blue light card and gain access to discounts with hundreds of retailers. You must be able to travel to and from work and college. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). The Dale is a family run care home that was established over 35 years ago in 1985. We are a small homely care home providing high quality person centred care to under 15 residents.
