Summary

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Apprentice Accounts/Finance Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing business within the Construction Industry as an Accounts Assistant.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Processing sales invoices
  • Sending Customer statements
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Setting up new customers on Accounts Software
  • Supporting with End of Month Payment Runs
  • CIS statements sent to subcontractors
  • Filing duties
  • Adhoc admin and accounts as required

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Your training plan

    • The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Accounts/Finance Assistant Standard Level 2.
    • The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.
    • This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln/Newark College, 1 day per week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE in:

    • English and Maths (grade A*/9 - C/4)

    You will be working at LBP House, Exchange Road LN6 3JZ until April/May 2025 at which point our new offices will be ready (currently under development) in Saxilby (Plot 1 Enterprise West Lindsey)
