An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprenticeship for a Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal practice in Coventry. Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Various Shifts
- Op 1 – assisting veterinary surgeon in theatre and diagnostics
- Kennel 1 – Pre & post operative care of our inpatients
- Laboratory – Running laboratory inc Haematology/biochemistry/microscopy/cytology
- Dispensary – Preparing/dispensing medication
- Ops 2 - assisting veterinary surgeon in theatre and diagnostics
- Kennels 2 - Pre & post operative care of our inpatients
- Consults – Running the nurse clinic inc 2nd vaccinations, post-op checks, nail clips (observing & assisting with RVN)
- Prep – Assist in preparing animals for surgery

Permanent job role as a veterinary nurse with us may be available (full-time or part-time employment) after completion of the apprenticeship course.
After completing the apprenticeship, you can apply for professional registration as a veterinary nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
