Sheet Metal Fabricator Apprentice

Summary

We are looking for an apprentice to teach, and work with, in the field of sheet metal working and manufacturing. This person will learn a range of skills from understanding drawings and customer requirements, to the production and manufacture of a variety of metal components.

£12,979.20 to £23,200.32 a year

Salary TBC - will be in line with National Minimum Wage.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a member of our team you will work in the manufacture of sheet metal components.
You will be able to work as part of a team or on your own where necessary.
You will be taught to understand engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
You will learn how to correctly use hand and power tools as well as learning the use of a variety of machinery.
You will become competent with the use of drills, milling machines and lathes.
You will become competent with the use of a variety of CNC machines including laser cutting, punching and folding metal.
You will also become competent in the MIG and TIG welding of a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
You will also learn to finish work to the high standards required and work to deadlines.
