Summary
Impress North East are looking for a Logistics Apprentice to work at their facility in Blaydon. The apprentice will learn how to co-ordinate & manage the throughput of materials & products through production and to customers. The right candidate will be taught how to operate material handling equipment such as fork lift trucks, overhead cranes etc.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Key Responsibilities:
Impress North East (Express Lasers) produce precision-machined components using state of the art CNC Laser cutting machines.
The site warehouse is a fast moving environment and incorporates some exciting technological advances. This warehousing apprenticeship is an excellent start for a career in the logistics sector. You will be supporting the movement of goods and products within the facility, to and from suppliers and customers. You don't need to be an expert already, an apprenticeship will teach you the skills you need for jobs now and in the future.
Typical tasks may include include:
- Selecting and moving products for customers
- Moving products around the warehouse facility
using assisted technology and manual handling (MHE), which you will be trained on - Using IT systems to keep accurate records of products
- Health and safety, following rules and guidelines to keep yourself and your colleagues safe while working

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- maths and English (grade 4 or above)
