Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Plan and develop creative content in line with Service values, supporting colleagues and functions across the Service for things such as blogs/emails/newsletters/social media content - graphics, videos, voiceovers, informative content, reels/write video transcripts
  • Aligning content with the Service’s Leadership Message and Behaviours
  • Develop and create written content that can be used across a variety of media
  • Create visual and audio content that can be used across a variety media such as Facebook/Instagram/ X/LinkedIn/website
  • Use tools such as Canva, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, Audacity, Logic Pro, Illustrator
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of content produced via relevant analytics tools against the original plan and recommend improvements using Google Analytics and inbuilt analytical tools

  • Interpret the aims of the brief.
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.

    Content Creator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

    As a Content Creator apprentice, you will work to a marketing brief. You will assist with the creation and distribution of creative content for various digital channels, such as social media platforms, podcasts, and blogs, that aim to boost audience engagement.

    Generally, your role will consist of conducting important market research and developing creative ideas, but the exciting part is that no two days are the same, as this can take shape through a range of mediums, from copywriting, to creating graphics, to editing videos.

    Throughout your time as a Content Creator apprentice, you will develop crucial content marketing skills, such as the ability to create engaging content for your target audience on TikTok and Instagram, analyse important metrics using Google Analytics 4, and create powerful graphics and video using Adobe Creative Cloud.

    • Course 1 - Planning and creating content strategies 
    • Course 2 - Short-form video content: tiktok & reels 
    • Course 3 - Video production & podcasting: adobe premiere pro 
    • Course 4 - Creating professional graphics: photoshop & canva 
    • Course 5 - Web content creation: seo techniques 
    • Course 6 - Effective email marketing: mailchimp 
    • Course 7 - Campaign performance & evaluating success 

    Your training will be delivered online via a SMART classroom every 4-6 weeks in 2 day blocks. 

    You will work towards your Level 3 Content Creator qualification.
