Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Communicate regularly and proactively with customers to keep them aware of progress on orders and to deal with any queries
  • Take and accurately process orders via phone or email taking a ‘right first time’ approach to the information that is provided and processed
  • Liaise with logistics providers and internal departments to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Take orders via phone or email and process accurately on Sage
  • Consistently observe Sage and CRM processes to maintain customer and service information
  • Work effectively with other departments – accounts, production and despatch
  • Managing customer calls, emails and queries, from the first point of contact to the resolution
  • Creating, sending and following up on quotes for customers.
  • Ensuring all data is uploaded accurately onto the online system
  • Working alongside Account Managers to problem solve, escalating any queries as necessary
  • Communicating with customers, providing product guidance and answering purchase inquiries
  • Assist in all areas as and when required to ensure all areas are supported and cover is in place
  • Raising orders on the systems for direct shipments and ensuring GRN’s are complete

  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • Maths And English (grade 3)

    Other requirements

    Candidate must be able to travel to the workplace and college according to working hours. The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £6.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18year old apprentices and those aged over 18 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation * Please note that if the successful applicant is found prior to the closing date the vacancy maybe withdrawn early
