    About this company

Our Preschool aims to provide a warm, welcoming and friendly environment. Sessions are held in a spacious village hall and offer a wide variety of structured and free play activities. The outside play area is securely fenced and has a sheltered area. There is a small digging and planting garden where children can grow their own flowers and vegetables. With our ethos of ‘learning through play’ at the heart of our practice, we use the EYFS Curriculum, children’s interests, parent and carers input and themes and special events, to plan and implement lively, varied, fun and stimulating activities and experiences for the children. We ensure by providing a balance of child-led, and adult-guided play and activities that the children are supported to develop important social and self-help skills, as well as being challenged and extended in preparation for school life. Therfield Village Preschool offers care and education for children aged 2 years to school age. Our most recent Ofsted inspection, in December 2019, awarded us with an overall rating of ‘Good’ in all inspected areas. Observations from the inspector include ‘This established and experienced staff team work together well.’ ‘Their interactions with children are warm and positive.’ ‘Children enjoy a broad selection of learning experiences that reflect their individual interests.’ ‘…they feel safe and secure in the nurturing care of staff. They have fun together…’ The report further states that ‘Staff work hard to establish trusting relationships with parents. They get to know families well and communicate with them effectively.’
