Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • This apprenticeship involves working with complex children in the care system. Supporting them on a daily basis by meeting their needs and supporting them emotional needs
  • The role is in a residential setting and staff complete shift work and complete sleep-ins in the home
  • This role is a great way into social care and involves a wide range of multi-agency working through the social care sector

  • As part of the role, you will receive a wide range of training including Safeguarding, CSE, First Aid, PACE, PRICE, Mental Health Awareness, Missing from Care, Understanding Autism and many more!
  • The qualification all our care staff do is the Level 4 - Children Young People & Families Practitioner. This is a work-based qualification and is done alongside full time / part time employment with Forge Care

About this company

FORGE CARE - ABOUT US The Forge, is a purpose designed Therapeutic Community located in the heart of rural Warwickshire we provides homes for up to 24 children who have experienced early disruption to their development. At the Forge children and care givers are provided with a sustainable and positive environmental influence from the outset, combined with a nurturing and supportive culture. The Forge is a collection of 4 large detached 6 bed residential care homes for children, with communal gardens, sports, therapy and amenity spaces. Our environment has been shaped with the complex needs of trauma recovery at the centre of our thought process. Our Therapeutic Community is dedicated to assisting healing from early, traumatic life experiences, disrupted attachment, and to reducing the impact of adversity, so that children can make sense of their pasts and make the most of their future opportunities.

After this apprenticeship

Being successful in your application means that you will be offered a permanent role at Forge Care and will start your career in Social Care. You will complete the highly desirable qualification Level 4 - Children Young People & Families Practitioner alongside your employment. Once completed you will be not only qualified but experienced and in a good place to progress to a senior care worker position or have a good base to move into different types of roles within the sector.
